Bubblr: The Basic Comic Strips

Create your own comic strip with Bubblr!

BUBLR is a tool to create comic strips using photos from FLICKR.
It is a new way to do a presentation for a student.
As you can see above is the example of one of the comic strip done by a student.
it is interesting to be looked at, and manage to attract students as it is very simple and unique.

So, how to do it?

It is very easy to be used by any level of students. Just follow the guideline below and you'll be done just in a second! :D Good luck!

Then you are done! :D

The best part of all, you can share your artwork with your friends!

You can share it in anyway you like, either through blog (like what i did), or Facebook or send it to your friend's mail, and many more you can find it there.

How can teachers use it in teaching?

I found out that Bubblr is very unique and need to be included in language teaching lessons for students.

Pre-reading
(brainstorming on seasons topic): Teacher includes some pictures of the 4 seasons and make a short presentation

Post -reading
Teacher can ask students to create simple advertisement from collection of photos in flickr based on the 4 seasons presented earlier.

Task Based Learning
teacher can ask student to discuss on certain topics such as events, places etc and it could be done by individual, in pair or in group.the presentation of the strip can be done at the end of class session. Or as homework, students can do it at home and send it to teacher's email.

Advantages

I found out that Bubblr is very unique and need to be included in language teaching lessons for students.

1. Students able to visualise how the other place looks like when it comes to pictures of places.
2. It can generate more ideas.background knowledge on the topic discussed.

Disadvantages

Eventhough there are so many advantages in the tool, there are quite number of limitations with the tools as well. For example

1. Students can reposition the pictures as they way they like.
2. For school which do not have the facilities to go to the internet might face difficulty.
3. Pictures are not the same as what students imagine.
4. Bubbles cannot be resized.
5.There is no music.
